How the bearing is computed

The Qibla is the great-circle path from your position to the Kaaba (21.4225° N, 39.8262° E), not a flat-map line. The tool applies the standard initial-bearing formula to your coordinates, so results differ correctly between, for example, Cairo, London, Jakarta and New York.

Sample bearings

Hold the phone flat, align the on-screen arrow with the bearing shown, and the highlighted direction points to the Kaaba. Calibration tip: move your phone in a figure-eight if the compass drifts.

Bearings and prayer times, together

The same location feeds both tools — set it once and the Qibla bearing, distance to Makkah and today's prayer schedule all update together. Everything works without an account and keeps working offline after the first visit.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Qibla change with my city?

Yes — the bearing depends on your coordinates; the tool recomputes it for wherever you are.

Why does my mosque face a slightly different direction?

Differences of one or two degrees come from rounding conventions or building alignment; the great-circle bearing here is the mathematical reference.

Does it work without internet?

Yes — after the first load the compass works offline.

How is distance to Makkah calculated?

By the Haversine great-circle distance from your coordinates to the Kaaba, shown in kilometres.
